PUIG GP front spoiler for the Yamaha YZF-R1

The PUIG GP front spoiler combines distinctive racing styling with purpose-developed aerodynamic characteristics for the 2020 Yamaha YZF-R1. Its aggressive shape draws on insights from MotoGP and Superbike and has been tested in a virtual wind tunnel.

Aerodynamics for high-performance riding

The shape of the GP front spoiler channels airflow and supports stability at high speeds and during changes of direction. Characteristics identified in the virtual wind tunnel include:

• Downforce with a measured force of 4,2 kg under hard braking
• Anti-shimmy effect to reduce lateral movement at high speeds
• Anti-wheelie effect through targeted airflow management
• Greater stability during changes of direction

High-quality PMMA and precise dimensions

PUIG develops and manufactures the front spoiler entirely in Barcelona. The component is made from high-quality, UV-resistant PMMA with a thickness of 4 mm. A rounded edge with a radius of 2 mm contributes to rider safety. The spoiler meets demanding European safety regulations.

Drill-free mounting

Installation requires no drilling into the motorcycle. Molded-in rubber parts secure the spoiler wings, while matte black aluminum brackets support the connection. The front spoiler can be removed again if required.

Three available finishes

To complement the individual appearance of the YZF-R1, the GP front spoiler is available in blue, black or light smoke. Its shape, dimensions and aerodynamic design remain unchanged.
